Christoph on flickr. His latest is this sprawling moon base. The brick-built spheres might look dated technique-wise what with those new Star Wars miniplanets, perhaps in a round-about way utilizing square pieces to make round shapes has become its own ironic form NPU.
Here is a series of starfighters he has assembled. Kind of like, what if Peter Reid did bubble canopies?
I can imagine they can be difficult to integrate. Christoph seems pretty apt at it, though.
The hose around the cockpit on this one does a good job of covering up gaps and making for a cohesive shape.
As fun as the starfighters are, this wheeled ground transport is my favorite.

Atlas Shagged
Emperor Ludgonious has been kicking around on MOCpages and flickr with his LIU theme for more than a couple years now. Cool builds, nifty back stories. Think pre-ambassador Keith Goldman watered down to be suitable for soccer moms. K-Gold has since drifted toward the PC side of things, he was last seen playing with damn duplos. O, how low the mighty have fallen.
Jokes, I love both their stuff. Ludgonious has been flushing out his science-fictiony universe with a set of themed MOCs. Check 'em.
Check out the rest of the LIU Atlas series here.
I recommend trying the new Cocaine Sauce with your fried Slug on a Stick.

Nothing to See Here <.< >.>
--Breaking News--Craig adds, "Most of you won't understand this; that's ok. Just keep moving along, and pretend I didn't post anything."
SAC SOLDIERS ASSAULT NATO EMBASSY IN JAPAN, SHOOT-OUT ENSUES WITH LOCAL POLICE.
I enjoy the seriousness and quiet presentation. While there is only one picture on his photostream, the composition makes for quite a realistic scene. Actually the briefness inserts a frantic, uncertain air. The situation in Egypt comes to mind.
Mike Yoder made a more elaborate, light-hearted diorama with accompanying back story.
Start here.
Also, Crimso Giger is up to his usual zaniness.

Keith Goldman as well.

DRPA 1
Andreas H. (MOCPage, Flickr) throws down quite an awesome dio on a par normally reserved for adult fans, i.e. the likes of Goldman and Ried.
Fulla towers and bunkers and shtuff, as well as this nifty VTOL:
The asymmetric dual cockpit is saucy.
Click for the gallery, which includes the underground train station.

Base N
Shannon Young, not be confused with the other Shannon, brings us this neo-classic diorama:
The sub-theme does have its critics and while I'm not a hater, sometimes it's not my favorite. However, Young brings us an entire Goldman wannabe esque diorama, complete with witty chatter:
"Ha! Classic Space never had to deal with a native population! I guess it's pretty easy to live in harmony with hypothetical beings... Serve some time with the Mars Mission like I did, hippie. Then you'd know these things for the filthy animals they are."
"Um, that's a Life on Mars Martian, not a Mars Mission Martian..."
"Quiet, hippie! The Space Police aren't above whomping alien-lovers too!"
Check it!

Good Stuff on MOCpages
I don't care about the noob-stereotype that surrounds MOCpages; it's one of the few places dedicated elusively to Lego model presentation, even if some kiddies get in the way of you're browsing experience. Here's proof that the heart of Sean Kenney's dream is still beating:
Lots of cool features on a relatively small dio, and a neato VTOL as well.
Brought to us by Martin Latta. Go over and add him to your "favorite builders" list.

IGNITION
Brian Kescenovitz has started individually posting his Dawn Forge vehicles from the Zero Hour on Highway 44 group build. It's encredible how much detail he's packed away in such a compact build. It has a rear hatch, nice sticker usage, sweet weapons packages (I love the ammo belt on the chin gun,) and amazingly industrial-looking hydraulic greeblies on the legs. It also has incredible poseability thanks to a nifty joint technique.
3.20.2009
Oh, that's what they were doing.
Taken from the description on Brian Kescenovitz's MOCpage:
The evacuation and occupation of Vancouver is proceeding as planned. Martial law is in effect; DF forces now 60% garrisoned with near 100% expected within three days. Local authorities are cooperative, civilian population unhappy but orderly. Exit volumes significantly higher than expected, but the simplifying and streamlining of traffic patterns has kept the evacuation on schedule.

Post-fest poodlidoos
I am experiencing the lego fan equivalent of post-traumatic stress disorder; post-fest lack of excitement disorder! [See Nannan's photos for the whole run-down] It has been a slow two days since the conclusion of Brickworld for me, but not for others. Nick Dean, for example, has whipped out a sniper vignette that includes a not-yet-released brickarms weapon, the M21!
In other news, Jeremy, on flickr, made a lovely diorama for the post-apoc "Picking Up The Pieces" contest. Check out that mech!

Apocalypsis gets a new resident
Mark Kelso, who recently wowed us all with his beautiful "Apocalypsis" (Making of is here) now puts a Brian Kescenovitz mech into it. And while I can't call the mech beautiful, it is an awesome piece of work and fits into the scene amazingly well. Lovely.

The Town of Sproket, and some other Steampunk Minifigs
Mark Stafford (Nabii on brickshelf) made a very awesome Steampunk Diorama (which includes that bot that Jacob blogged). While some details I absolutely love (The Tavern, This Mech), I feel like the nicely tiled ground could use some more detail and the scene could have had a bit more movement in it. Take a gander yourself.
The now-famous Morgan19 (Jamie Spencer) first gained attention for his steampunk models for their custom-painted gold parts (and amazing construction!). He takes that customization skill and brings it to a minifig level with a little brickshelf gallery.

Golem Attack by Adrian Florea
Infamous Adrian Florea has a stunning diorama in his typical style. Check out those golems, (which he posted a little while ago) the roof, and the cliff face! The stone hand emerging from the well, and the other from the rock wall are nice touches. And don't forget the Griffon! In a comment he says;
It's pretty much the fantasy of nature taking it's revenge on humanity.... by the use of magic, spawning these creatures right from under their feet. It might also be a hint as to how powerless we are in the face of nature and it's powers... Lots of interpretations.

He adds not to take that too deeply, but it's still awesome.

More new CRAP!
5 creations. 5 builders. 5 BRICKSHELF GALLERIES OKAY LET'S GO!
Robbed made a post-apocalyptic diorama. While that is pretty nice, I much prefer the vehicles, especially the walker.
NEXT
Larry-Lars has a (late?) entry to the FTBT steam-wars contest; A Steam Y-wing with nice details. Plus, look at the use of those boats!
NEXT
The oft-blogged izzo has a beautiful dark bley drilling mech. I'd like to point out the slick SNOT around the 'face.'
NEXT
Kidthor (who appears to be an avid mech builder) made an awesome 'desert mech.' I think what I love about this stout little guy is the use of dark tan (who doesn't love it?) and gears in the legs. The feet are nice as well.
NEXT
Last but not least, endrju94 has a technic-fig scale flying vehicle reminiscent of Zach's Calloused Boxer. It's got some nifty details such as window panes for the windscreen, a cylinder built into the top of the hull, and a seat made out of a tire.

New Crap.
Come on guys, just blog once in a while.
Well, Nick isn't blogging, but he sure is building. 3 New RAMM additions, all of which are awesome.
Also, Stone-goblin on Brickshelf has a very nice castle/fort thing. On the outside, it isn't pretty, but the multi-colored roof is nice and the inside details are alot of fun.

Venice...
Brickshelf "Gork" has a beautiful little Venice Diorama. Be sure to check out the willow tree and house interiors.

Okay! Best of 2007 is here (the lukas way)
I don't really know how I'm going to make the list this year. Differently than last... we'll see.
So... what theme took off in 2007 more than anything? (even frogspace colon o) Microspace! That flickr group helped. Okay, so there was a lot of microspace this year. I think we all know who dominated the theme.
Best Microspace Overall:
Tim Zarki (spook)
It's obvious, just take a gander around. My award for best microspace creation also goes to his Khet Nasari relic, by the way. Oh spook how I envy you in almost every way.
Hmmm what to do next....
Oh! Post-apocalyptic was another theme to take off this year, after Tyler's initial diorama. He's dominated the genre from since then, and most of the other post-apoc creations have sucked. (read: most, not all. You can still build with confidence.)
Best Post-Apocalyptic Overall:
Tyler (legohaulic)
Bam. Bam. Bam. What more can I say?
Best Land Vehicles Overall:
Nick Dean (Kcaster)
Well, he's mah buddy, but he also makes awesome stuff. Just check around his RAMM (even the flying parts) and you'll know why he wins here. Oh, and he also fits into the other good post-apoc stuff. the land stuff- [1] [2] [3]
Okay, on a bit of a roll now.
Best New Space Builder:
Martin
You might not have heard of him, but he makes some really sweet microscale, along with some other nifty junk.
Best Mecha:
Jehkay
Okay, I love his stuff like a madman, and as far as I can tell there wasn't a whole lot of mecha love this year. soren built a bit but not enough to cure my appetite, as usual. Jehkay just has such a cool style, and is finally breaking into color!
Best Whatever:
Nannan Z!
I just had to think of an award to show off all of his sweet stuff. Okay, those two are very recent, but they're my favorites.
Best Steampunk Creation:
Uhh... well. Hrmmm.
This is difficult. As much as I want to honor Kevoh's absolutely amazing fingobbins rock, I feel like Zach's Stinkbug deserves that spot as well. Well, at least I've linked to both of them.
Best Starcraft:
Nnenn
I don't care about the controversy, he builds amazing stuff.
Bleh. I don't know what else to add. to the finale!
Best Builder 2007:
Adrian Florea
Yep. He started 2007 off with his crazy X-wing thing, then joined CSF with his buggy for the contest. Adrian then catapulted himself into the larger sceme of things with his amazing half-track transformer, then a great microspace carrier, then a racer, then an ugly fighter, then a mech diorama, and ugh whatever he builds I love. Even Stimpy. Adrian has a great sense of form and SNOT in his creations, making complex unorthodox builds that are just... crazy.
and don't forget his latest, which is technically 2008.
Other winning things!:
Portal (in lego)
Tim bird
Me!
Happy new year everybody.

Pepik's "Future Space Etc"
Brickshelf user Pepik brings us a nice future oil well fire. But we all know it's Post-Apoc. Actually, one of the reasons I like this so much is because it feels like late-90's Lego. Both of the vehicles seem to have almost a Rock Raiders kind of feel to them. Anyway, just enjoy!
>.>
<.<
In other news...I am about to blog something that is not Lego. It is in fact cheese. Yes. I am blogging a MOC that is made out of cheese. There's a first for everything. Yes, I'm serious. Every once in a while there are people on Flickr that add me as their contacts and don't build with Lego. They're either predators (just kidding) or other hobbyists. Curis seems to be into a mixture of things, but I wouldn't have thought he'd be into cheese. Sure enough, though, he is. Here we have Curis going to the local store to buy materials:
Just like most of us would use Bricklink, Curis buys his cheese in large quantities at the best price. Next he begins cutting the cheese:
Not figuratively, but literally. Eventually he shapes it out into what he invisions.
He'll add a few extras, like the red highlights, and the flaming fireballs (which are made from a different type of cheese). And now it's done!
Okay, I'm hungry for a cheesestick. Go ahead and view the rest in his photostream (link at the top of the photos).
